Streaks verified from Yahoo's "This player is a keeper" flags on the 2022–2025 draft boards, plus the confirmed 2026 keeper list. A player's very first season on a roster (drafted or traded for) doesn't count as a "kept" year — only the years they were actively retained do.

Heads Up: New Keeper Rules Start in 2027

Voted on by the league in 2026. None of this changes anything for the 2026 draft above — it's still 2 keepers per team under the existing rules. But it's a big deal for 2027: the max-2-year-hold rule means every player above with a 3–4 year streak (Jordan Love, Christian McCaffrey, De'Von Achane, Justin Jefferson, Garrett Wilson, Puka Nacua) will already be past the new 2-year cap and hits free agency in 2027 unless the team re-drafts them. Keeper Count	3 keepers per team, up from 2 — effective the 2027 draft.
Max Keeper Years	A player can be kept for a maximum of 2 years. Starting in 2027, any player already kept 2+ years becomes a free agent.
Keeper Cost	Round drafted minus 1 round — effective 2027.
2nd-Year Keeper Restrictions	A 2nd-year keeper can't be kept again or traded for next-season purposes. It can only be traded in-season.
In-Season Trade Cutoff	No in-season trades are allowed after the last week of the regular season.
Post-Season Trade Window	After the regular season ends, only keeper trades and draft pick trades are allowed.
Draft Pick Trading	Draft picks can't be traded for in-season purposes — only for keepers or other draft picks, for next season.
Keeper Year Transition	1st-year keepers become 2nd-year keepers after the last week of the regular season's Monday Night Football game.
Keeper Deadline Changes	Once the keeper deadline passes, changes are only allowed if a keeper gets injured. No changes are allowed within 2 hours of the draft.
